(A) Research in Motion (RIMM) vs. Palm (PALM)
October 2005. In October 2005, ChangeWave first identified the early signs of RIM gaining momentum over Palm for the lead in the consumer smart phone market. Plus, RIM was the clear dominator on the corporate side as well.
March 2008. Fast forward to the findings from our March 2008 consumer cell phone survey: “RIM (42%; down 1-pt) is maintaining its towering lead in smart phone market share, even as number two Palm (16%; down 2-pts) maintains its two year losing streak. Palm has now lost market share in seven consecutive ChangeWave surveys dating back to October 2006.”
